ABSTRACT

Presently, osteomuscular lesions are the most frequent of health problems related to working, in every country. Several aspects can lead to the appearance of these problems, and they can be divided into: predisposing (genetic, physical capacity, hormone changes, anatomic areas exposed to lesions) and activating (biomechanic, social and organizational). Historically, the resources and the ways for the professional therapist to act were limited basically to healing activities, as a disadvantage to prevention. Most recently, physiotherapy has managed to present itself to be effective as well as efficient upon the preventive area.
